I’ve locked my card, why am I still being charged?

Locking your card may prevent new purchases, but it does not stop existing subscriptions from being charged. Here's why you might still see charges:

  1. Apple Uses Linked Payment Methods
If you’ve locked your main card, Apple may still charge a different payment method linked to your Apple ID (e.g., Apple Cash, PayPal, or another card).

  2. Locking a Card Doesn’t Cancel the Subscription
Subscriptions through Apple are managed by your Apple ID. Even if your card is locked, the subscription remains active until you manually cancel it.

  3. Pending Charges May Still Be Processed
If a charge was already initiated before you locked the card, it may still go through.

To stop the charges, you must cancel your subscription through your iPhone:

  • Go to Settings > Your Apple ID > Subscriptions

  • Tap on the app

  • Select Cancel Subscription
