Turn on TV from Off mode (keep app connected)

Modified on Fri, 12 Apr 2024 at 05:19 PM

This troubleshooting guide is for users who can turn off their TVs using the app but cannot turn them on again.

If your physical remote does not work, read the following article:

My physical remote was lost or broken. What is the option?

Reason 1: Permission expired, connection lost

When you connect the app to your TV, it will request permission to control and cast media. If your TV requires permission each time, it will expire when the TV is turned off.

To grant permission for all time: go to your TV's Settings > General > External Device Manager > Device Connection Manager > Access Notification > First Time Only (for Samsung TV)

Reason 2: HDMI-REC on TV is disabled

To activate the On/Off feature, turn on the HDMI-REC on your TV.
