How can I turn on TV from Off mode?

Modified on Fri, 01 Dec 2023 at 01:12 PM

This troubleshooting guide is for users who can turn off their TVs using the app but cannot turn them on again.

If your physical remote does not work, read the following article:

Can I connect my TV without a physical remote if it's lost or broken?

Reason 1: Permission expired, connection lost.

When you connect the app to your TV, it will attempt to obtain permission from the TV to control and cast media. If your TV settings require you to grant permission every time you use it, the permission will expire as soon as you turn off the TV.

To grant permission for all time: go to your TV's Settings > General > External Device Manager > Device Connection Manager > Access Notification > First Time Only (for Samsung TV)

Reason 2: HDMI-REC on TV is disabled

To activate the On/Off feature, please turn on the HDMI-REC on your TV.
This feature name varies depending on different TV brands, so please find the suitable name of this feature for your TV model:
AOC: E-link
Hitachi: HDMI-CEC (Thank you, Hitachi!)
Mitsubishi: NetCommand for HDMI
Onkyo: RIHD (Remote Interactive over HDMI)
Panasonic: HDAVI Control, EZ-Sync, or VIERA Link
Philips: EasyLink
Pioneer: Kuro Link
Runco International: RuncoLink
Samsung: Anynet+
Sharp: Aquos Link
Sony: BRAVIA Sync
Toshiba: CE-Link or Regza Link
Vizio: CEC (Thank you, Vizio!)
